Page Turns – RVNP: Adventures on Crichton Island – MK Stangeland Jr.

(Another piece featuring my ‘ROBOT VIKING NINJA PIRATES’ concept. This takes place after they’ve discovered they’ve acquired ‘robot scurvy’ – that is, they’ve started rusting. A trip has been taken to an island to try to acquire citrus fruit in order to make a cleaning solution to fix the problem. The trip has not exactly gone smoothly.)

(3 Panels)

Panel 1: The landing team is rushing along a path, with E-DRONES carrying baskets of CITRUS FRUIT. CAPTAIN ODIN is signaling for the robots to keep moving.

ODIN (1): Let’s MOVE, people!

ODIN (2): That thing is close, and I don’t expect it to take it’s sweet time…

Panel 2: Large panel as a female ARACHNOSAURUS REX bursts through the treeline with a roar.

SFX: krAS-NCH!

F A-REX: grOAAAHHHRRrr!!!

Panel 3: Close up on ODIN as he looks towards the A-REX and begins to draw the swords on his back.

ODIN (1): (Downplayed) …getting here.

ODIN (2): Ah, (‘Censored’ symbols.)

Batman Beyond – Bat in the Machine – MK Stangeland Jr.

(BRUCE WAYNE has finally died – but it turns out he left a program based on his brain inside the BAT COMPUTER. Turns out this has not gone without problems.)

TERRY (2): Batman…Bruce Wayne, he’s gone.

BAT COMPUTER (2): I MUST PROTECT GOTHAM CITY.

Panel 3: TERRY.

TERRY (1): You’re right. Batman must protect Gotham.

TERRY (2): But you’re not Batman.

TERRY (3): And you’re not trying to protect Gotham, you’re trying to control it.

Panel 4: BAT COMPUTER.

BAT COMPUTER: BUT I AM BATMAN.

Panel 5: TERRY attempts to close in on the BAT COMPUTER.

TERRY (1): I’m sorry, but no, you’re not.

Invader Zim – Game of DOOM – MK Stangeland Jr.

(6 Panels)

Panel 1: A Television screen, displaying an E3-like event. On stage is DAN HACKMAN, a modern-age game developer type, complete with a casual-Friday style business suit. His face stands out in particular, as it sports a very robotic, artificial looking forced smile.

HACKMAN: And now, to officially reveal our latest Next-Gen system, I present the brains of the design team, Zimmy Eyes!

Panel 2: HACKMAN has stepped aside to reveal ZIM, disguised as ‘ZIMMY EYES’. The base is his go-to human outfit, but he’s wearing a casual business suit and nerd glasses, plus an obvious fake soul patch on his chin. His face is just short of revealing itself to be an evil grin as he looks out upon the crowd and waves.

ZIM (1): Hello!

ZIM (2): Yes, it is I, Zimmy Eyes, brilliant game god game designer extraordinaire.

Panel 3: The couch and living room of the MEMBRANE residence. GAZ sits on the couch with her usual ‘monotone frustration’ look.

DIB stands in front of the couch, pointing at the TV with determination using his best accusatory point.

DIB (1): *gasp!*

DIB (2): ZIM!

Panel 4: Back to the TV, where ZIM stands on the stage.

ZIM (1): Yes, I am here to reveal to you slaves of your precious ‘video gaming’ this amazing new game system to which you shall all be enslaved!

ZIM (2): Yes, enslaved to amazing games!

ZIM (3): Presenting…

Panel 5: TV image shows a video display of the ‘GAME ENSLAVER U’, which looks like a white box that is about as aesthetically pleasing as a plain white box can look, alongside a techie looking helmet with green visor and gloves.

ZIM (1): THE GAME ENSLAVER U!

ZIM (2): For U will be ENSLAVED! To GREAT GAMING!

ZIM (3): MUAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

ZIM (4): I laugh because of how entertained you will all be!

Panel 6: ZIM stands on the stage, looking down at the cheering crowds in front of him. His hands are clasped behind his back as he glares malevolently.

CROWD: YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

DIB (1): (Off-Panel) Alright Zim, I know how this works.

DIB (2): (Off-Panel) Time to tell me what your evil plan is.

GAZ: (Off-Panel) DIB!

Discovery – Fantastic Voyages – MK Stangeland, Jr.

(1 Panel)

Panel 1: A blue sphere, one with a FUTURE FOUNDATION logo on the side. It travels across a DITKO-esque dimension made up of images of various universes – most of them MARVEL, some not, and a few of them look broken or in need of tweaking or other repair.

REED RICHARDS (1): (Text Box) A scientists’ work is never truly done.

REED (2): (Text Box) After all, it is their job to understand the mysteries of the universe.

REED (3): (Text Box) But how can anyone ever truly understand the universe as a whole?

REED (4): (Text Box) Let alone a multiverse. Or the omniverse.

REED (5): (Text Box) Maybe that’s what drives my calling as a scientist.

REED (6): (Text Box) For if a scientist can never truly complete their work, they are never left without a purpose in life.

REED (7): (Text Box) They are never without something new to explore, without new ideas and worlds to discover.

REED (8): (Text Box) Theirs is a journey that will never end.

Art - Christmas Special: 12-20-16 - MK Stangeland Jr.

(I wound up liking my Christmas Script for this year so much - the relative simplicity of it helped - that I felt driven to do art for it as well.)

(So here, Merry Christmas.)

Christmas Stories – 12-20-16 – MK Stangeland, Jr.

Panel 1: Two small trees, similar to the one CHARLIE BROWN adopts from A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS, after it’s been spiffed up. A stick sits between to connect them, which WOODSTOCK is sitting on.

To the left stands SNOOPY, who is looking at the display with one hand to his chin in a pondering fashion. WOODSTOCK looks in SNOOPY’s direction.

SNOOPY: (Thought Balloon) No, I’m not sure it works as replacement for a pear tree.

Sidekicks – In A Name – MK Stangeland Jr.

(6 Panels)

Panel 1: An office, the headquarters of DIAMOND JIM, a detective superhero. It’s a room that’s largely in disarray.

SIDEKICK: Yeah, when do I get to go out into the field with you and do some real superheroing?

Panel 4: SIDEKICK BOY is noticeably surprised with annoyed disappointed as JIM offhandedly answers him.

JIM (1): Ha, ha; ho, ho; no. No, no, no.

JIM (2): Taking a minor out with me when I do the most dangerous part of the job?

JIM (3): What kind of irresponsible superhero do you think I am? Batman?

Panel 5: SIDEKICK BOY questions DIAMOND JIM with indignation.

SIDEKICK (1): What?!

SIDEKICK (2): Then just what kind of sidekick am I?

JIM (1): Technically, you’re more an intern than a sidekick.

JIM (2): You did read through the entire application, right?

Panel 6: SIDEKICK BOY, deadfaced.

SIDEKICK: …

DIAMOND JIM (1): Well, consider that your first major lesson.

DIAMOND JIM (2): You know, alongside all the other lessons you’re learning just by doing all this very much non-dangerous work for me.

Musicals – Deadpool LIVE! (But Not Really!): An Epic Musical Extravaganza Event! – MK Stangeland, Jr.

(5 Panels)

(Note – All panels below should be done as if they were taking place inside an indoor theater of some kind.)

Panel 1: DEADPOOL – technically, an actor dressed as DEADPOOL – rides down and across the theater from the back to the stage on a line of some kind. He’s dressed up in full costume, with an Elvis-style costume over it, he’s carrying a guitar that he at least looks like he’s playing, the guitar should resemble a prop ax weapon. Attached to his back by some sort of pole or stick, pointing out to the side, is a yellow box with words written on each side.

SFX: (Epic Music Notes)

YELLOW BOX: Behold my epicness!

MUSIC: (Sung) DEAD-POOL!

Panel 2: DEADPOOL actor lands on the stage amongst the assembled chorus in a way that faces out toward the audience. ‘Ninjas’ – stage crew dressed up to match the background – remove the YELLOW BOX from Panel 1.

A pair of blank screens are in the background, one of which is currently showing a yellow box.

SFX: (Epic Music Notes)

MUSIC (1): (Sung) This is, his show;

MUSIC (2): (Sung) It’s DEAD-POOL!

YELLOW BOX: Aaaaand nailed the landing!

Panel 3: The Chorus pulls the ‘Elvis’ outer costume off ‘DEADPOOL’ as the pull away and dance into the background, leaving ‘DEADPOOL’ in just his classic red and black.

SFX: (Epic Music Notes)

DEADPOOL: (Sung) The star you deserve has arrived!

YELLOW BOX: (With singing) You did paid for him, after all!

Panel 4: ‘DEADPOOL’ leans in towards the audience.

SFX: (Epic Music NotesDownplayed)

DEADPOOL (1): But just between you and me, I’m not actually Deadpool.

YELLOW BOX: Ha! Joke’s on you!

DEADPOOL (2): The real Deadpool is a very busy man, so he hired me to fill in for him.

Panel 5: The DEADPOOL actor starts walking back as he plays the guitar he’s holding; the chorus and backup singers and dancers move forward again to fill in around him.

SFX: (Epic Music Notes)

DEADPOOL: But let’s just keep that between us!

YELLOW BOX: Or else!

The Ancient One - Origin – MK Stangeland Jr.

(4 Panels)

Panel 1: Location - Kamar-Taj, a long time ago. The ANCIENT ONE (movie version) sits in front of a character who resembles the comic version of the Ancient One, referred to here as the ELDER ONE. Here, the ANCIENT ONE is stylized towards an appearance fitting her Celtic heritage, rather than that of a wise master as seen in the movie.

ELDER ONE (1): The power you seek cannot be found here.

ELDER ONE (2): To the contrary, the power you seek it not a power I can allow to fall into the hands of anyone.

Panel 2: Continuation of PANEL 1, focusing towards ANCIENT ONE.

ELDER ONE (1): Revenge is not something we condone here at Kamar-Taj.

ANCIENT ONE: <Revenge? I haven’t said anything about revenge.>

ELDER ONE (2): You didn’t have to.

Panel 3: Continuation of PANEL 2, focusing towards ELDER ONE.

ELDER ONE (1): You think you’re the first one to come here with a tale of woe and an ambiguous desire to set things right?

ELDER ONE (2): What you don’t say and how you choose not to say it says far more than you think.

Panel 4: Focus on ELDER ONE, with a great cosmic display behind him.

ELDER ONE (1): We can train you to heal. We can help you to move on in life. We can even give you new purpose in life.

ELDER ONE (2): But what we deal in here requires a dedication to something far greater than ones self. You cannot possibly imagine the utter insignificance of each of us compared to what we have dedicated ourselves to here.

ELDER ONE (3): And it is something for which there is no room for revenge or any other petty forms of self-declared vengeance.

ELDER ONE (4): No.

ELDER ONE (5): Room.

ELDER ONE (6): At.

ELDER ONE (7): All.

LORD VILLAIN (1): (From Castle) Muah ha ha!

LORD VILLAIN (3): (From Castle) FIRE THE CANNON OF DESPAIR!

Panel 2: A beam of energy fires from the castle toward the city. The beam is made up of dark, foreboding, energy, but it stopped before it can hit the city by a brightly lit barrier of light and counter-energy.

SFX: (From dark energy) DESPAAAAAAAAAAAIR!!!

Panel 3: LORD VILLAIN, looking down from a balcony on the Doom Castle at the beam of despair as it’s blocked by the energy barrier.

LORD VILLAIN (1): What?!

LORD VILLAIN (2): What is the meaning of this!?

LORD VILLAIN (3): I demand an explanation!

Panel 4: Inside RIGOR, where SIR HEROIC and GOVERNOR FLYNN stand on top of a building watching as the beam of despair continues to hit the energy barrier.

GOVERNOR FLYNN: You’ve done it, Sir Heroic! We’re saved!

SIR HEROIC: All in a days work, Governor!

Panel 5: GOVERNOR FLYNN continues to converse with SIR HEROIC.

GOVERNOR FLYNN (1): So how do you plan to stop Lord Villain and his Cannon of Despair for good?

SIR HEROIC (1): Uh…I don’t actually have a plan for that yet.

GOVERNOR FLYNN (2): What?!

SIR HEROIC (2): I was mostly focused on saving the city and figured I work out the next part later.

Panel 6: SIR HEROIC places a hand on GOVERNOR FLYNN’s shoulder as he puts on a look of determination.

SIR HEROIC: But I’m sure that if you and the citizens of this town hope for a solution to present itself hard enough, it’ll be more than enough to keep this Shield of Hope operational until I’ve figured out a solution to the problem!

GRANDPA: Son, would you do the honor of leading us in grace?

FATHER: Really? You mean it?

GRANDPA: Of course.

FATHER: Dear Lord our Father, we come together to offer thanks for this day, for this meal, for this gathering…

Panel 3: FATHER continues to say grace, the rest of the family is showing signs of confusion at the length of it.

TEXT: 5 minutes later…

FATHER: …and for this nation, and all that it entails, that we live in such a great nation, may we be humbled by all the blessings it has received. May we not take this great nation for granted, oh Lord…

Panel 4: FATHER is still saying grace, the rest of the family clearly wishes he’d just wrap it up at this point.

TEXT: 10 minutes later…

FATHER: …and for all the other gifts of this day, including our freedom to celebrate this day, let us give thanks to you…

MOTHER: Dear, I think…

GRANDFATHER: Thank you God, amen, let’s eat.

Panel 5: The rest of the family starts serving the food, while FATHER still stands there, knowing he messed up somehow but lost on how.

FATHER: …

GRANDFATHER: Just be thankful and get on with it, son.

Evil Twin – Invader-er miZ – MK Stangeland Jr.

(6 Panels)

Panel 1: DIB is in a techy science lab of SCIENCE(!) belonging to PROFESSOR MEMBRANE; it’s clearly a place he’s definitely not supposed to be. The main scienc-y thing that he stands next to is a large techy pod.

DIB (1): If the calculations I borrowed from dad are correct…

DIB (2): …Zim being his own worst enemy combined with whatever it is from my brain that drives me to save humanity in spite of itself…

DIB (3): …should give me a Zim clone that will defeat him for good.

Panel 2: DIB pulls a lever.

SFX: CRANK

Panel 3: A lot of steam and light pours from the techy pod.

SFX: BbzzUUU!

Panel 4: The pod opens up and a cloud of dramatic smoke covers the floor. Inside the pod is a copy of ZIM, but with your traditional goatee and mustache. He also has a large smile on his face.

DIB: (Minimized) Good Zim?

Panel 5: MIZ is outside the pod and looking toward DIB. His smile has turned sinister.

DIB (1): You don’t look very good.

MIZ (1): That’s because I’m not.

DIB (2): I’ve created an evil twin? But Zim’s already evil!

MIZ (2): Exactly.

Panel 6: Close-up on MIZ.

MIZ: I’m his evil-er twin.

BEETLEJUICE: (From TRAP) Hey, it’s surprisingly roomy in here.

Panel 2: RAY picks the TRAP as the others look on.

BEETLEJUICE (1): (From TRAP, downplayed) This could actually make a nice vacation home.

BEETLEJUICE (2): (From TRAP, downplayed) Some nice curtains, the right accent rug…

ZEDDEMORE: That doesn’t sound right.

VENKMAN: Ray? Egon? Either of care to explain?

Panel 3: EGON tries scanning the trap as RAY holds it.

BEETLEJUICE: (From TRAP, downplayed) Maybe even some nice flowers in the corner…

RAY (1): It’s incredible!

EGON (1): This is clearly a phenomenon unlike anything we’ve seen before.

RAY (2): We could be looking at a brand new class of ghost!

EGON (2): We should probably get this back to the lab ASAP so I can study it closer in a controlled environment.

Panel 4: VENKMAN, with a mischievous look on his face.

VENKMAN: Hey, I just thought of something else we could do with him.

Panel 5: GHOSTBUSTERS office, where the trap containing BEETLEJUICE has been hooked up to the phone and computer systems through some form of over-technical setup. VENKMAN is talking to JANINE, who looks less than thrilled by the setup.

BEETLEJUICE: (From TRAP, downplayed) Ghostbusters, whatta you want?

VENKMAN: Hey, you’re always talking about how you want more help.

She-Hulk – The Red Green Show (Part x) – MK Stangeland, Jr.

(6 Panels)

Panel 1: Post-Chaos. Both SHE-HULK and DEADPOOL are sitting on something that passes for a bench as collateral damage lies all around them, both look worse for the wear and in serious need of a breather after a rather spectacular fight of some kind.

Panel 2: Continuation of PANEL 1, as SHE-HULK and DEADPOOL continue to sit there.

YELLOW BOX: Well that happened.

SHE-HULK: *angry grunt*

Panel 3: Further continuation of PANELS 1 and 2. SHE-HULK reaches up and grabs YELLOW BOX (2), noticeably crushing it with her grip.

DEADPOOL (1): (Thought Balloon) Did we actually accomplish anything?

YELLOW BOX (1): We accomplished entertainment, that’s what we accomplished!

DEADPOOL (2): (Thought Balloon) Ah, right.

DEADPOOL (3): (Thought Balloon) So who’s ready for Round 2?

YELLOW BOX (2): In bed, maybe. If you know what I mean.

DEADPOOL (4): Bow chica bOW! OW! OW!

Panel 4: SHE-HULK swings YELLOW BOX (2) from PANEL 3 at DEADPOOL like a club in a one-handed backhand, the rest of her body hardly moving. DEADPOOL goes flying into the air and into the background at high speed as result.

SFX: HULKSLAPPED!

Panel 5: SHE-HULK remains sitting as she breaks YELLOW BOX (2) from PANEL 3 across her knee as DEADPOOL lands somewhere in the background behind the rubble and destruction beyond where we can see.

Inktober – Calvin Random Chess – MK Stangeland Jr.

(I started looking through Inktober images when I came across this by CHRIS VENDRICK and knew immediately that I had to try to use it. Especially when it reminded me something that at least used to be a thing on Wikipedia (It’s been years since then so I don’t know if it exists anymore or has been forgotten) that I believe was called ‘Calvin Random Chess’.)

(5 Panels)

Panel 1: Title Panel, reading “CALVIN & HOBBES”. A charred battlefield positioned between two really cool looking medieval fortresses. A couple of large, towering figures the resemble some of the roles taken by pieces on a chess set occupy the field.

CALVIN: (Text Box) The super violent and super bloody battle for ultimate domination continues.

Panel 2: WHITE PAWNS and WHITE KNIGHTS charge across the battlefield atop ferocious super-tiger attack mounts.

CALVIN: (Text Box) The White Army marches forward, undeterred as they crush all in their path!

Panel 3: An army of BLACK KNIGHTS stand resolute opposite the direction the WHITE ARMY is coming from. A handful of BLACK BISHOPS and BLACK ROOKS – which look like giant castle golems – stand behind them.

CALVIN: (Text Box) Yet the Black Army remains undeterred, as they wield a secret weapon given to them from on high!

Panel 4: A BLACK KNIGHT stands in an awesome-looking combat pose as it holds a machine gun and fires at an off-panel target.

CALVIN: (Text Box) They have machine guns!

Panel 5: CALVIN and HOBBES on either side of a Chess board, CALVIN on BLACK side and HOBBES on WHITE. The pieces on the board shouldn’t match up with what you’d expect from a typical Chess set in way that’s reminiscent of CALVINBALL.

CALVIN: Wow, I never knew Chess could be so much fun.

HOBBES: I don’t think we were ever actually playing Chess in the first place.

The Time Machine – The Life and Death of FUTUREMAN! – MK Stangeland Jr.

(So is it cheating if this weeks script isn’t exactly about the Time Machine even if it’s a time-travel based story?)

(6 Panels)

Panel 1: An aged hero – FUTUREMAN! - out of costume, is on a yacht. He turns to see a time bomb with only a couple seconds left on it appearing out of a burst of chronological energy.

SFX: BtzzZZZUUUUW

SFX: beep-beep-beep

FUTUREMAN!: !

Panel 2: The yacht, as it explodes.

SFX: BOOM!

Panel 3: A recovery team goes over the wrecked, exploded yacht – notably, FUTUREMAN’s should not be anywhere in the scene at all.

Nearby, stands FUTUREWOMAN, looking over the scene.

FUTUREWOMAN (1): This could have only been the work of a truly dastardly villain!

FUTUREWOMAN (2): I will bring the guilty party to justice! So swears Futurewoman!

Panel 4: A night scene on a rooftop, as FUTUREWOMAN looks around.

CAPTION: Later, earlier…

FUTUREWOMAN (1): (Thought balloon) My investigation has led me here. I must be close!

FUTUREWOMAN (2): (Thought balloon) And yet, why do I have the strangest feeling of déjà vu?

Panel 5: FUTUREWOMAN is far in the background as he looks to a scene happening in the foreground, where we see a version of FUTUREMAN! in his prime as well as FUTUREGIRL, the youthful sidekick version of FUTUREWOMAN.

Nearby, disappearing in a display of energy that should match that from PANEL 1, is the same bomb that appeared on the yacht in the future, including the amount of time left on it.

SFX: beep-beep-beep

SFX: BtzzZZZUUUUW

FUTUREGIRL: The bomb is about to explode! We’re almost out of time!

FUTUREMAN!: Nonsense, Futuregirl! I’ll send it away to the future!

Panel 6: FUTUREMAN! stands triumphant. FUTUREGIRL less so.

FUTUREMAN! (1): One again, the day is saved, thanks to FUTUREMAN! and FUTUREGIRL!

FUTUREGIRL: But Futureman!, where did you send the bomb?

FUTUREMAN! (2): For now, it matters not! We have plenty of time to figure that out later.

FUTUREMAN! (3): After all, time is on our side!

Panel 1: A SCROOGE-style spaceship flies next to a large ASTEROID.

LAUNCHPAD: (From inside ship) Wha-oh.

SCROOGE: (From inside ship) Wha-oh? What ‘wha-oh’?

Panel 2: Inside the spaceship, where LAUNCHPAD is flying. SCROOGE is nearby, as are DONALD, GYRO, and HUEY, DEWIE, and LOUIE.

LAUNCHPAD (1): Well, uh, it seems we misjudged the flight of the giant rock.

LAUNCHPAD (2): Looks like it’s going to miss the moon and, uh, fly into the planet.

SCROOGE: What?!

Panel 3: GYRO looks at a computer display.

GYRO (1): Well, at least it’s not big enough to cause any major damage when it lands.

GYRO (2): Enough of it should burn up in the atmosphere to make it relatively harmless.

SCROOGE: What?!

Panel 4: SCROOGE is upset.

SCROOGE: That’s me money you’re talking about!

Panel 5: SCROOGE giving orders, still upset.

SCROOGE (1): Get that asteroid back on track!

SCROOGE (2): I didn’ finance this trip just to watch me burn up in the atmosphere!

Luke Cage – Cage of Law – MK Stangeland Jr.

(5 Panels)

Panel 1: Film Screen-style panel, located in a Latverian Castle. A character representing DR DOOM faces off against NICOLAS CAGE – who is dressed up to look like LUKE CAGE, complete with makeup in the style of RDJ from TROPIC THUNDER, and has just crashed through a door in DR DOOM’s castle.

CAGE (1): Sweet!

CAGE (2): Christmas!

Panel 2: LUKE CAGE and SHE-HULK are in a law office, reviewing the film in question.

LUKE CAGE (1): Ya know, I’m starting to think I might be happy to just let this happen.

LUKE CAGE (2): Not even bother taking them to court.

SHE-HULK: Dare I ask why?

Panel 3: LUKE CAGE and SHE-HULK, talking as they continue to watch the film.

LUKE CAGE (1): You see the mess they’re putting together?

LUKE CAGE (2): If this doesn’t absolutely crash and burn and embarrass everyone involved, how you think the real Doc Doom’s going to react when he gets a load of this?

SHE-HULK (1): Oh.

SHE-HULK (2): …

SHE-HULK (3): Oh.

Panel 4: SHE-HULK turns to LUKE CAGE.

SHE-HULK (1): Luke, as your Lawyer? I have to question the ethics what you’re proposing.

SHE-HULK (2): As an Avenger, I have to express concern that what you’re thinking verges on supervillain territory.

Panel 5: SHE-HULK and LUKE CAGE, grinning, but in a joking ‘it’s fun to fantasize about’ way.

SHE-HULK (1): But as your friend?

SHE-HULK (2): I like the way you think.

Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared – Oblivion – MK Stangeland, Jr.

(6 Panels)

Panel 1: RED GUY, YELLOW GUY, and DUCK GUY, at the table. They’re all looking at an individual – ‘OBLIVION’ - who looks like a human-shaped void in the fabric of reality, but with ominous glowing eyes.

DUCK GUY: Who are you even supposed to be?

Panel 2: DUCK GUY vanishes from existence, a small ‘blink’ indicator of some kind occupying the space he was previously sitting. RED GUY and YELLOW GUY look toward where DUCK GUY used to be, both screaming in terror.

RED GUY & YELLOW GUY: AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

OBLIVION: OBLIVION!

Panel 3: RED GUY and YELLOW GUY start running around like chickens with their heads cut off as the furniture around them blinks out of existence.

RED GUY & YELLOW GUY: GUAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

OBLIVION: LET NONE ESCAPE MY FATE! I AM…

Panel 4: The scene has vanished from around them, replaced by a plain white background. RED GUY and YELLOW GUY are still running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Not to be outdone, they have been joined by an actual chicken with its head cut off, which is leaving a bloody mess around it as it runs.

RED GUY & YELLOW GUY: AAAAAGHHHHHHHHHH!!!

OBLIVION: OBLIVION!

Panel 5: The white background has been replaced by a star-filled void. OBLIVION is no longer present, but his eyes take up a large portion of the background, as if he IS the background. RED GUY, YELLOW GUY, and the HEADLESS CHICKEN are floating about in an aimless panic.

OBLIVION: Nothing left but endless nothing!

Panel 6: Black panel, with the word ‘OBLIVION’ across it in very large type.
